Pride of Africa

by Crystal Rose Blooming   Aug 5, 2008

The burly man stands alone a scowl upon his face
Living in a country full of beauty and of grace
He looks out around him at the ocean and the trees
Breathing deep the essence of the morning breeze

Flowers of every color the purples and the gold's
Giving pleasure to the eye it's beauty to behold
Vines growing lush and green , waters crystal clear
Fragrance you can't explain fills the morning air

There is so much violence it's hard to understand
For this gentle giant that loves his mother land
His heart is filled with sadness ,a teardrop in his eye
All the inhumanity will be this lands demise

But he stands straight and tall his wife right by his side
In his heart she's the one that fills him with such pride
If it wasn't for her love he might just go insane
But she reaches out to him and helps absorb his pain

To my friend Grant

Well Crystal your poem honestly left me with a tear in my eye, firstly because no one has ever done anything like this for me, and secondly just thinking about how MY country is treated by the very people who inhabit it breaks my heart. Im not going to say anything about how the poem was written there is no way i could possibly be objective.
thank you so much my friend
