The crime of innocence

by Dark Secrets   Aug 27, 2008

Sitting calmly on the kitchen floor
Hearing thunder hit the door
Listening to his mother pleading
Please don't harm my dear duckling

Tumult, corruption, confusion all about
Nothing but blurs and glimpses he doubts
Sounds of fear pounding in delicate ears
Misunderstood actions, a child but two years

Exploding booms of unmerciful tools
A mothers last scream filling the rooms
Pitter patter on the window pane
Little drops of crimson rain

Restfully dropping right by his side
Stroking the hair of the mother who died
Innocence of his eyes glittering through
The sorrow and sadness of the scene past his eyes flew

Still he sits calmly through the chiming of wars bell
In the essence of his mothers sweet smell
Later on he is drowsy and lays his little head
To feed serenity from the heart which for his love bled

A sight of an angel flying by
His soul carried to the heavens high
Leaving a precious little body behind
A sign of the blind war wishing to grind

Note: This poem is a tribbute to all the children who were killed in war.

    'Little drops of crimson rain

Innocence of his eyes glittering through
The sorrow and sadness of the scene past
    his eyes flew'
Children don't deserve to see such things,wait.. let me change that.. no one deserves to witness such gruesome sights. These lines kinda made me angry, reminding me of the countless times this has happened and will be happening again. No man should die in the hands of a man. Yes, we all die, but it doesn't have to be like this..

'Still he sits calmly through the chiming of
    wars bell'
And this just shows that he's really innocent, doesn't know what's happened and what is happening..

'A sight of an angel flying by
His soul carried to the heavens high
Leaving a precious little body behind
A sign of the blind war wishing to grind'
I love how you ended this, but although he's in a better place now, the war is still ongoing.. more innocents' blood shed.

    Really well-penned.5/5 Keep writing!

Inna lil'llahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un(To God we belong, to him we will return). This is such a heart touching piece, very heart breaking. It's very unfortunate that such pademoniums have engulfed our societies. The masses, wives, youths and children are always victims of such calamities. May the soul of the repose that lost their lives rest in the bosom of The Almighty, Ameen ya rabban alamin. I pray God takes control of this chaotic miseries at His appointed time of Glory and Mercy to us His servants. Written with compassion and breath-taking words. I love the idea you inncorporated in conveying such delicate and sad cases. Flow is good, I'm really impressed, take care. Jazakallahu Khairan, remain blessed. :)

Speechless. i had that werid tingly feeling all the way to my toes. its so sad to see so many innocent children suffor. war does nothing but cause destruction and lies. they say heaven and hell exisit within the brightest and darkest of minds....i see that hell is on earth. with only the glimpse of heaven that shines. brillant.
