A Blood-Stained Goodbye

by Saving Grace   Oct 11, 2008

From a girl so insecure,
Came a smile, so bright and pure.
From a girl who'd suffered for far too long,
A place was found, where she truly did belong.

She belongs in his arms for ever and more,
But she'd had enough, of crying on the floor.
So she applied the make-up, over the feelings she hid,
She would never show them, heavens forbid.

She seemed so happy, she seemed okay,
And happy she was, until this one dark day,
Until that day, her violent past,
Came back to haunt her, way too fast.

She didnt have time, to calm herself down,
So she broke into tears on the muddy wet ground.
He held her in his arm, asking whats going on?
She stared at him through teared eyes, and said 'its all going wrong'

But she couldnt tell him of all her pain,
She didnt know how she would ever explain.
So she ran home, as fast as she could,
She found the knife, and asked herself if she should.

The next day he went, to see her, ask if she was okay,
When he suddenly realised, she never reached this day,
His heart broke as he read the blood stained goodbye,
It read: Baby i love you, but i really deserve to die.

    Powerful story.
This is really good. You're a skilled rhymer.

I'd be interested to see you write some more contemporary stuff. I think you have the vocabulary and voice for it.
