To a new day (Cadence)

by Dark Savior   Oct 31, 2008

Blue is the color to begin my day
It helps me think about things I say

Green is the color that Helps my throat
if I didn't have it, I don't know how I'd cope

Red is the color that is able to stop the pain
A joyous explosion falls over me like a soft rain

Yellow is that special color that is taken at lunch
I'm not too sure what it does, but I have a hunch

I wonder if all these pills are really the answer
I'm not sick, I don't have any form of cancer

I'm thinking that perhaps I might be right
I'll stop them tomorrow, just not tonight

I can't face this cruel world alone
tomorrow it will all be known

This is awesome! I wasn't sure exactly what the colors were representing until the 5th stanza, which is great, because it kept me enthralled and curious. (: Form, cadence, everything was great. I haven't read a piece quite like this before, it was very refreshing. Keep them coming!

This was a rather unique piece as I haven't read one similar to it before, so points for that. I like how in a way it relates to everybody as we all procrastinate and tell ourselves we'll do things and then keep pushing them aside. Overall it was a good poem and it had good flow and word choice...5/5 GG23

Your poem was truly superior and amazing, the way you start this poem and how it evolves just takes my breath away. the way you used colors and made them for a bitter ending. I really loved it.

I like the description of each color and also the way you have said things without giving away too much. Good one!
    Take care.
