Forget The Nights Alone

Pretend I'm not slipping,
I don't know my warning signs,
I'm not sinking slowly, honest,
Simply clinging to our ties that bind.

Hold my head up and dry my eyes,
I swear from now on I'll be strong,
These tears are only reminders,
That you've been far away too long.

I do realize your reasons,
Know well the ways you cope,
But I just can't shake this feeling,
You and I are hanging by a rope.

Yet I'll try again to push away,
These things that pull me down,
If I'm to keep your head up too,
I can't allow myself to drown.

So I'll take you tightly by the hand,
And brush away the tears we've cried,
Hold us both together..maybe,
I just can't let this get to me inside.

    This is beautiful!

    "These tears are only reminders,
    That you've been far away too long." - I think these two lines are extremely powerful and show an extraordinary amount of emotion.

    Ok AWWWWHHHH this is insainly amazing.
    It makes me mad that the boy i loved decided to "drown".
    it almost made me cry.
    THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING! i dont usualy cry over poems, but the power and the love i felt in the lines was overwelming.

    Wow. I love the style, the flow, the title and the words. Such an emotional piece.
