Ho Ho Ho ...

by Dreamofolwin   Nov 28, 2009

Ho ho ho, faces full of glee,
Presents wrapped up under the tree.
Sparkling tinsel, lights everywhere,
Snow covered trees that once where bare.

Anticipating, children wait.
Excitement building, until late,
Into the night they fall asleep,
Silently, Santa starts to creep!

Theses are memories that I have,
When as I child I was so glad,
To waken up on Christmas morn,
Running down the stairs like a storm!

To see what Santa had left for me,
Oh how much I wanted to see,
If my special wish was there,
And in my heart there was a stir.

A shout of sheer exclamation!
My face, full of admiration,
My asked for gift just to be there,
Nothing could my joy compare.

And so this year I'ill look to see,
MY little ones faces full with glee,
Excitement brimming ,up inside.
How good it is to be a child!

Aaaaaaaaaaah, those golden days of childhood. Especially those christmas days. Can be a very exciting atmosphere.
Your poem really grasps the reader and makes him/her feel like a child again. A 5 for me.

The ending gave me chills, I don't know why but it did.. seeing your children's faces when they see what they got from Santa and looking back on how it used to make you feel. Such a sweet poem, this is really cute. Awesome job I loved this Olwin!!(:
