Begging to be Filled

by Tara   Jun 23, 2004

This empty glass before me
Is begging to be filled
To wash away the pain from
Endless tears that I have spilled.

You left, you're gone, its over
Don't know what else to do,
Vodka and my broken heart
Now tear my world in two.

And so I take my bottle
To pour another shot
Knowing soon you'll go away,
Your memory, forgot.

I raise the glass to my lips
And slowly count to three,
Warm liquid fills my body,
You become a memory.

I'm drowning now, and yet I know
I'll never be fulfilled,
My heart is like this empty glass
That's begging to be filled.

    Beautiful.
My favourite so far from you, great flow in this one and good use of expressed words.
I was captivated from the start till the end.
