The Bully...

by Dreamofolwin   Jun 23, 2012

Trampling, trying to destroy you;
you feel there's nothing you can do.
Time and time again he strikes,
sapping from you all of life.

He undermeans, he undermines;
pinpointing faults, makes you feel like grim.
His nastiness is hard to bear,
his angry looks and hateful glare.

But rise up and face him, don't let him beat;
the person you are, stand firm on your feet.
Don't let him make you feel peasized...
for it's God that you have on your side.

And He will give you strength and grace,
to look the bully in the face...
Stand up for yourself and smile and say,
God will vindicate me come what may!

    Very nice Olwin and yes we have to learn to rise up to those bullies or they will keep beating us down and stomping upon us. Like the encouragement towards the end! Excellent!

    I remember the bullies we had at school and this poem describes them so well. Bullies will never amount to anything becaused in the end they will be shunned.

    I think bullies behave in a nasty way because they want attention, maybe something which is lacking at home so they have to try and be the centre of attention always.

    Very good write.

    This is a great piece of writing Dreamofolwin.
    The daily insulting, arguing, demeaning and put downs, can be so very hard to bear.
    Why bullies do this?, I do not know, but it can reduce one to tears, and make us feel worthless.
    There is clearly something in Bullies childhood, which makes them want to behave this very nasty way towards others, sometimes inflicting this pain for a lifetime. This is a great poem Dreamofolwin.
    Your words say it all.

    Olwin, I had one of these Bullies in my life and with my faith in God, I overcame and got away from the situation. I know how you feel.
