Unwound

by Jump from Life   Dec 14, 2012

Late one evening
both filled with solemnity and sorrow,
There came a rapping
at my heart.

He called and listened
while I held the blade taut.
Even while crimson glistened
He never looked away.

That night I fell
deeper and deeper
but it wasn't towards the clanging bell
of despair but to the surface.

For awhile I stayed
with not a care at all.
Sure we fought and we played
but I never imagined this.

He turned around
one night, lust in his eyes.
Everything became unwound
and I died with his knife deep in my heart.
