You Are My Bouquet

by William Mae   Jun 10, 2013

You Are My Bouquet

My words are simply flowers,
That I'm picking for your heart,
I picked the brightest colors,
Discarding those that's sharp.

I picked red to show your passion,
Shows the zeal you bring to life,
They say I love you in each petal,
Represent my heart inside.

I picked yellow showing sunshine,
How you brighten up my day,
How you make my clouds diminish,
Push the storm clouds all away.

I picked white to show the honor,
And respect I have for you,
How I guard you from the heartache,
That a cruel world would pursue.

I picked pink to show the softness,
And the grace you represent,
How you love without condition,
Different shades of these I sent.

Purple shows your spirits poise,
The loveliness you own,
No other holds these attributes,
Or any that I've known.

Together they're a bouquet,
That represent your life,
And they barely scratch the beauty,
That you truly hold inside.

Seasons fade the summer flowers,
They live to only die,
But your flowers never wither,
For in my hearts where they reside.

Aww.. what a lovely poem. I like how you compared the one you love to flowers, and how each color represents something. It was a joy to read.

The rhyme scheme and flow of the poem was good too!

    Great job :)
