Another Forbidden Fruit Story

by Acoustic Odyssey   Oct 23, 2014

What happens when heart and soul
find that missing piece
within a smile, one has no right
to dream about

When the lines of right and wrong
are blurred
...even for the most righteous

What if a man's treasure
is truly another man's treasure?

-sigh-

Sometimes, it's not the snake
that leads you to the forbidden fruit

This poem is truly a refreshing piece and twist about the "Forbidden Fruit"- Adore this powerful small poem.

Acoustic Odyssey has written a powerful message here. It's truly wonderful how he has written about the forbidden desire of another or just the lustful and longing desire of a smile... This is the take I went with on this poem. He speaks of desires that not many are willing to display in words and it's very tastefully done.

The ending lines are just WONDERFUL! A smile, a look, and glance or even just the person's existence can lead a soul astray.
    Love this!!

Hidden within each poem is a message, there seems to be such sorrow here. The first stanza seems to be about someone that you care deeply for but cannot have them the way you want because they are with someone else. Your happiness is complete with them and your smile becomes genuine. What is that line between right and wrong? It seems like no one in this world truly knows nowadays. They take without giving, even as you say the most righteous. I loved the sigh here, it pauses for dramatic effect and you know the last stanza will blow your mind. :). A person that you are allured too can tempt even the strongest of hearts, forbidden or not, this poem shows excellent creative metaphors about real love and someone you cannot have. 5/5.
