The Lightning in You and I.

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 8, 2015

Maybe lightning is God's way of communicating
that there are no clear-cut answers.
I can't always prepare for what I don't know.

That's how I hear you, when you rush into me.
One second I'm asleep, tossing in an aged bed,
satin sheets curled around sunless skin...
then, I am on streets of Vancouver, eyes
of rain and tongue of hunger for someone
to take me in. Call me home.

Maybe lightning is God's way of inspiring change,
the change I need to make in me. To stop
dreaming of what I can and can't do and test
it out. To challenge the darkness in me.
To test the waters of you. If I can dance
when you storm or if I will shiver and have to
duck.

I wonder if each time the bolts shock my heart,
if you are remembering when I lit up yours.

Or if I ever could, again.

    Wow Guinea Pig!

What a great meaningful poem, really going in depth to the though that everything happens for a reason, and that it all means something. I often find myself in that position where I think what if, what if it means this, or is a way of being told this. I like finding reasons for things happening, I think it helps offer closure for a lot of things too.

    Greatly worded as usual!! :)

Oh my...there is a lot in this and so many images and thoughts were hitting me as I read this. Its a self seeking moment of a person in a relationship who is going through or in the process of making some changes. How those changes are going to affect or how it will change that person is what I'm getting from this write. Nonetheless, it has got my attention!
