Being alone

Being alone is a choice I've made
after I delt with the pain,
getting hurt so many Times
can make you feel numb inside.

The trust is gone
it's been hammered out of me,
the wall stays up, scared to risk it.
Perhaps one day it will drop an inch.

I am still social, have a lot to offer
however always prepared for that next burning sting.

    When your alone after being kicked it's easy to believe things will never get better but keep hope in your heart and don't let the past define your future. Sometimes you have to kiss a great many frogs to find your soulmate but if you are patient and keep an open heart they will come to you eventually x

    It is certainly easier to burn all bridges when you have been hurt so many times, Dagmar; that is entirely understandable. However, don't lose all faith in humanity...
