One Note at a time

by Alex Penuelas   Dec 26, 2017

I'm not gonna act like
I'm some sort of expert
On how to play
Any musical instrument.

Heck, I literally just
Picked up a guitar
Some time in early July,
And only really got into it
A couple of months ago.

I will admit,
Entering into the music world
Was a very surreal experience.

It feels like you have
Entered a completely foreign country,
With a language that feels
Alien but familiar in a weird way.

And Yeah,
I won't act like
Mastering melodies like Ode to Joy
Makes me any sort of expert
In guitar playing by any means.

Inasmuch as I'm no expert on life
After only orbiting the sun
A mere twenty three times.

But I'm learning
how to play the game
One Note at a time.

It's not about being an expert Alex, it's about the thrill of learning a new skill, another way for you to express yourself. Well done :-) x

Alex, I liked this a lot. I admire anyone who can play a musical instrument. I of course can not, lol. But obviously there was more to this write than just that. Learning to play the game is one of those things we all learn to do (well not all of us) in order to survive this world and deal with other people, whether they be total strangers or family members. It sounds like you are well on your way.

    Totally love this.

Stick with it, I used to be able to play piano a bit (before my mother sold it) there's a certain something about music that gives a release like no other.

These days I just hit things with sticks but I love this also.

Fantastic little poem by the way.
