I was able to escape

by Dagmar Wilson   Dec 27, 2017

I have broken free
from this emotional prison
that had me locked up for a very long time.

You had the key to my heart
the remote that controlled my emotions,
a charm I can't deny.

I suffered while doing my time
have grown and earned my independence,
threw away those rusty handcuffs.

You have not changed
but I have,
you just don't know it yet.

Such strength in this piece Miss Dagmar,
showing what you endured, but realisation and resilience flushes those things that bog you down.
    Nice one lady
    Much hugs
