private

things nobody would understand
anyway.

(do you hear the rain falling
like tears of people mourning?
you know, i'll be there to catch you when you fall
even if there's nothing else i can do)

When you mentioned "private, unimportant, irrational", that reminded me of the way we can essentially be at war with ourselves. Our mind becomes our worst enemy and we internalize our deepest fears, scared to try and give them a voice at the chance of being ridiculed or dismissed.

Love that encouragement in the last part, in the parenthesis. Even if we cannot understand the tears or despair of someone, that does not mean what they are feeling is not valid or extremely difficult for them to process.

I love the way this piece read off and how the lack of capitalizing the "i's" at the end is able to come off as incredibly powerful not just lazy. the feel of this piece was wonderfully spot on, I felt like a tear rolling down the cheek of a loved one or like a rain drop splitting apart upon impact with the shoe of someone feeling lost or lonely.
