There Is Always A Way

I have seen my dreams and aspirations fail.
I've seen my hopes dashed on the rocks.
I've witnessed all I held dear float away
And I've been left to pay the cost.

Downtrodden, depressed and subdued,
I continued with the fight.
When I felt like giving up and quitting,
There has always been a light.

It has never been holy or angelic,
That light is held within.
Should I quit, give up and fade?
No! Because for me this is a sin.

We were not given life with guarantees,
We are not guaranteed to grow old.
The measure of your existence
Should be stories that are told.

When life bites, rips and tears us apart
There is a thing I always say.
When Sometimes things seem impossible,
