anxiety (acrostic)

by Mr. Darcy   Jul 31, 2018

Ants crawl over fretting
newts that writhe and twist like
Xanthraeels, gnawing at my
irritated intestinal tract.
Each magnified thought contorts
to an unmanageable Hell:
Yelling, silently now, I hide my screams...

Anxiety seems to be a taboo subject to talk about. People are embarrassed to discuss this with others. It's ironic really, as talking about anxiety will actually help.
      Thanks for your comment.

Michael, I can't believe I missed this one. In future, when I go to the doctor's and he asks what's wrong, I will simply take him a print out of this marvellous and chilling sort of acrostic.

      Good idea...
This was easy, I just described how I often feel.
I hope highlighting it will help.

With my anxiety reaching an all time high recently, I can absolutely agree with Craig. You capture these feelings perfectly. Fantastic job!

That is the best description of that feeling I have ever encountered.

Acrostic poems are tricky in ways. Yes they are easy to write but it's not easy to convey exactly what you intended when you first started writing it.

This does a fantastic job of tying mind and body.

I've only recently stumbled upon your work but I intend to stumble upon many more.

    Regards dude

    Craig
