Numb

I see her footprints fade
upon the earth like a nightmare
upon a falling, starry, midnight.

She evades my dreams
while my restless eyes
struggle with reality.

Reaching for fingertips;

Wanting to save her
as she falls-

I watch her float like an angel
as hell awaits her arrival-

and I am left alone....
