She Awakens

by Star   May 7, 2019

The moon whispered
his last blessings,
as the sun lifted
the darkness that
hushed her.

The morning dew
quenched her thirst,
as desert dandelions
ascended with her.

She unleashed her
ankles from the fibrous
roots of an old saguaro,
as she took her first step
into the golden land.
