Writers Block (Acrostic)

by Brenda   Oct 7, 2019

Wondering if my words are ever coming back...
relishing the day when I can put more than a stanza together. Finding the
irony of this acrostic with every line I produce...
Tepid feelings over the whole process, wondering if
eventually I will actually, no
really write with my heart bleeding out,
staining the pages with ink and blood...
-
Blocks upon blocks of words, damming my thoughts, not
letting
out creative processes
clogging my conscious stream of creativity, creating havoc, chaos...
keeping me off kiltered and utterly unsettled...

I love this Brenda and I think it speaks to all of us. I especially related to the last part about how the creative block feels very unsettling, especially when you're so used to your creativity flowing. I'd say this is a damm good start with the unblocking process though and with a tricky acrostic at that! :-) x

It always fascinates me to see people writing about writer's block! As you acknowledge yourself, there is an irony in it but I know it's not quite that simple. Writer's block is only one subject, and penning our thoughts about it doesn't necessarily open the floodgates. However, it's a start and I reckon this form is as good a place to begin as any.
Great to see something new from you, Brenda.
