Might only be an invite
To an empty house

A very bold statement was expressed here, yet you left some room for the imagination. Thoroughly enjoyed!!

Nicely put Walter! That is the neat thing about Senryu's, that punch at the end. Well done!

hmmm... what can i say? This piece leaves room for imagination. Let’s say the house is a person and the open door is the heart of the person per se. So letting the heart open to love someone can be an invite to be with someone that has no feeling for anyone...

It’s sad. In other words, A first relationship didn’t work out but the individual is open to try a newer relationship and give himself a second chance at love. However, it’s not fair for whomever will get in a relationship with him because him might be using that someone as a rebound.

There’s many ways to interpret the senyru. The above (hopefully it makes sense) it’s what came to mind at first read. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Luce, Thanks for your comment and I love your interpretation. I think this is why I like the Senryu style as it can say or mean so much with just only a few words. As you say, there are many ways to interpret and so can hold different meanings depending on the reader.
