Faded Spirit

by Star   Dec 28, 2020

You’re the
essence
of coldness,
your dagger
wont kill
my soul;
your
freezing hands
made an
ice sculpture
out of my
failing heart.
You knew
you could
keep
me alive,
but you
also knew
I will
no longer
exist.

This is very powerful and the layout works well here too, matches the fast pace of the poem.

In the end I could picture someone holding a heart within their hands, literally taking control and power of whether that heart keeps beating or not. I think it reflects a lot of being captured within a pain someone has caused us and even though we may feel free, the hold someone or something can have on us can still linger strongly

    Great read
