a willing prey

by prasanna   Dec 29, 2020

cradled between your amber irises,
between the streaks of fiery red and
cool olive that treads the multitudes
that swirl in your eyes,
a flower blooms in secret –
your stigma commands attention.
i, a honeybee, fevered with
nectar dreams, circle around it
peering into the warm infinity
that gently reminds you it will
swallow you whole.
like a crouching tiger,
lying in wait –

you fixate your eyes on me
while i read the stories in
yours.
