dusty galaxy

by prasanna   Dec 30, 2020

imminent like the blossoming of night-jasmines,
my tongue is ripe with music, my heart pulsates
once more, to your rhythm – grandiose like
a rose sturdy enough to withstand the
monsoon without withering or wilting
a single petal. like a plump field mouse
taking shelter in a tulip, i take up residence
in your heart. magnanimous, you have a
certain quality to you – you willingly
shine less to let those around you
have their moment in a dim sky.

tell me,
how colourful is
your night sky?
