Honey, Bear in Mind: Do Not Tell Me

by Everlasting   Mar 9, 2021

Like honey dripping from a honeycomB
Oh you saw me, there, in the open for yoU,
Visible, like a sweet delicacy, a desserT.
Every so often, you tried to approach me, and I,
Minding my own thoughts under the mooN,
Eyed you, but just like that, i kissed you good bye’S
Dusks around the corner, and you tried again, but I,
Ever so still, unawarely, became fluently verbaL
A exchange of thoughts swarmed in a dancE
Right, there, i looked at your eyes. i saw the suN
Like a exploding star, like something cosmiC
You nor anyone would like to bE..

I really love this. There’s something so sultry and tasteful when writing about honey. It’s one of favorite things to integrate into my poems. I really enjoyed this piece and I think the end is just phenomenal. All the love yet loss and sadness into so few lines is hard to accomplish and you hit the nail on the head here. Thank you for sharing!
