My father has always been an
Ebrious man, liked more than a
Tipple at family gatherings but
Haven't we all used the saying
'One more for the road' or 'one
More won't harm' but it does. It
Alters trust and relationships of
Nurturing family and friends and
It only worsens when feelings turn;
Animosity shows you need help, fast.
Em, this was emotional and truly illustrated how devastating addiction can be. Especially when someone isn't able to see the effects yet, not only on their future, by on the ones closest to them. One can't "hide" their addiction forever, and the harm is there, whether or not it's realized right away or not. I think that can be the hardest thing to admit, when alcohol affects you that way, and makes you into someone you're either not proud of or don't want to become.
i know so many people that are decent, but alcohol masks their true nature. I feel your pain and know that you would dearly want him to find the strength to shed the shackles that prevent him from being who you need him to be. I hope he realises in time. x
