Foreshadow

I don't think nobody, knows you like I do
To anticipate emotions that you share
Sometimes your expressions let me see straight through
In moments our eyes caught and both would stare

I know when you are happy, your smile I cannot miss
Not only just your lips, but with your eyes
And I always love, when watching you like this
Even now it's such a beautiful surprise

I adore you when you glow, your skin which is so warm
You would capture my eyes and slightly blush
In moments like this, you make my feelings swarm
But I'll savour every moment and not rush

Sometimes you are distracted, something's on your mind
Times like this that our eyes never meet
And I'll keep a distance but subtlety remind
That if needed I'm just right behind your feet

But one time your emotion, I've never seen before
From both your eyes, your tears would just flow
For once I wish this feeling, I could just ignore
Pretend that I already didn't know

And maybe that I always, wore a blindfold
Because now your eyes, are no longer seen
I only wish with words, that you would have told
As this is never something I would have foreseen

I’m glad this is nominated. I’m always captivated by your work, from beginning to end. The rhyme is effortless, the emotion and feeling behind the words are so raw that I can feel them in my chest. I love this.
