Not Here

The dream was unforgettable
Imaging a place without me.
The tears on the loved one's face?

Waking up to the mornings song,
Last night begins to fade.
Going for the days routine,

Where is everyone?
Ah, there's hope.
But sad faces are upon the room.

The call that changed their life.
What happened?
They begin to leave without saying a word.

Screams shattered with the tears.
The horror struck on their faces was one etched in the mind.
Who were they looking at?

Two days later, the graved expressions never left.
Everyone so distressed and miserable.
Leaving, yet again.

I follow, but where to now?
Why is everyone dressed in depressed black?
The shadows forsaken and have taken over.

Moving along, a deprived place is seen.
So quiet in this area, the souls never leave.
Trapped.

Gathering around a coffin, this must be a funeral.
A picture lay beside the lifeless roses.
She was beautiful but so young.

The death of her must have caused her families so much strife.
My brother is saying a prayer for her dear life.
"The death of my sister,
Is one I will never forget.
I know she is right here with
all of us.
She will be watching over us.
And I want her to know,
Why did she have to die so
young?
Maybe it was her time.
This is no one's fault.
No way this could have been
prevented.
But hopefully this teaches
other teenagers,
Not to drink and drive."
