Impulsiveness

by Rachel E F Allen   Dec 8, 2004

I told you all my secrets and inner most thoughts,
They didn’t seem to make a difference to you,
You felt all my pain,
And I know that you cared,
My best bit of impulsiveness will always be you.

We fell at the first hurdle because you gave up,
And now you’re what feels like a million miles away,
I didn’t even get the chance,
To show you I care,
Or to kiss all your tears away.

You made me feel beautiful, special for a while,
Maybe it’s a good job you walked away,
For inside me there lies,
So much you could hate,
Seems ridiculous I could feel so much hurt today.

I can’t really explain it, I guess I’m just lost,
But I thought that you could have been there,
If I’d known that that kiss,
Would have been my last,
I’d have kissed you for longer to show you I care.

So cheers my darling, here’s my toast,
I know we could have had something true,
You won’t give it a chance,
You can’t see what I see but,
My best bit of impulsiveness will always be you.
