Open your eyes

by Rachel E F Allen   Apr 16, 2005

Open your eyes now my darling
Let me kiss them until you awake
I will sing you a lullaby
Cherish every movement you make

Open your eyes now my angel
Let me see that they are blue
I will show you everything I adore in this world
But not love anything more than you

Open your eyes now little precious
Let me show you the blue of the sky
I promise I will never let you go
But please take away these tears that I cry

Open your eyes now my sweetheart
Let me keep you safe and warm for all time
Mummy needs your help though to carry on
Please just give me hope, a sign

Open your eyes now sweet boy
Let me rock you in my arms
I will promise to always
Keep you safe from harm

Open your eyes now my dead child
Please open your eyes, open your eyes
What have I done to deserve this?
Why can’t God hear my cries?

Open your eyes now and see me
Everyone else get away
He is my baby and I need to hold him
In my arms he shall stay

I need to open my eyes now and see you
Feel that your warmth has all gone
Know that never will I see my face in yours
Answer me God what have I ever done?

Opened my eyes now no hope left
I kiss you heavy hearted and sigh
Sleep tight now safe and sound
I love you angel, goodbye.
