The True Light

by Robert   Feb 5, 2005

In blackness I walk in a land of dark demons abound,
for they hunt me endlessly like I was a coon to a hound.
They stop me then gnaw at my skin,
then let me go with a red teeth grin.
When I am to be let go for another hunt in this dark land,
for I try to find any shelter on hand.
I climb up trees with thorns that scar every place,
and then in pain slice my own face.
Blood stained on my clothes and I have no where to go,
I scream out only to tormented by my foe.
Hidden is his face shrouded in a mirror of black,
I retreat ever more when he come to attack.
I beg for mercy when I am in his clutches about to die,
then he lets go and I dare not ask why.
This game of cat and mouse haunts my will and tears at my soul,
and I see in my face it has taken its toll.
I have fought back only to be hurt so much more,
just like the pains but greater then before.
My skin bares the war scars of these encounters one by one,
but I have never asked for help from the blessed one.
Yes my hand have never melted together in a rejoice or pity,
for in this tomb of life its too damn gritty.
Still it stalks me and waits for the time to draw near,
and comes to me and feeds on my fear.
My soul has had enough and I wish no longer to play this game,
so I through out my pride and cast myself to shame.
Down on my knees I whisper a prayer I once heard said,
to help me over come this darkness or give me to the dead.
All the sudden I feel the warmth and witness to a strong light,
it encompasses my body and shows me everything in sight.
A shadow falls down on my surrounded by this Molten force,
it comes down on me and shows my heart a different course.
All is clear and my mind can see the truest of all end,
for he was never out of reach he just like a best friend.
Open your heart he asks and I will do what must be done,
for I have paid for your sins with my only son.
I feel hope I can see the joy in sight,
for the first time in my life I can truly see the light.
