All I Can Give

by Robert   Apr 26, 2005

I will play the role that you have set up for me,
and do everything as you wish you shall see.
I will cater to your whims and coddle you like a child,
and hold you down when you have gone wild.
I will grant you an audience where no one will hear,
I will storm the halls so you will never fear.
I will be to you a mentor and dieing friend,
for I will be the only one that will see you to my end.
All of this I will do without hesitation or remorse,
all I ask is that you take your rightful course.
Take the lessons that have gave me all this pain,
show me a light that is worth this constant strain.
Show me the man that you can proudly be,
for only in that right I can truly be free.
Take all of me if that will do,
for in the end I live in you.
You are me, by blood and flesh skin and bone,
and when I pass this world know you will never be alone.
My gift is my life and the lessons of what lies ahead,
for you, are, my future, my salvation for when I am dead.
My son the for this note is all I have left to give,
read this slowly for hopefully this word will make you live.
