Tears to Wash You Away

by Tara   Sep 26, 2003

Endless tears drop down my face,
One for each memory I can't erase.

I close my eyes to search for some relief,
But all I see is you, and all I feel is grief.

Should your memory leave, or should it stay?
Would it be better if it just washed away?

But I know it won't, I can't let you go,
These things I feel inside are things you'll never know.

So I'll let them come down, these tears every day,
But I won't let them wash your memory away.

Okay a couple of things. I loved your rhyming it flows so smoothly with the poem. Second the title is perfect as well. Now the poem. Crying is never ever a sign weakness. To me tears show how much you care about a certain person. Though there is sadness. There is strength as well. Love is difficult because you never want to lose that person. But time can heal and crying is a great way to cope. All you want to do is forget that person that hurt you but you can't and it causes more pain. The lines connect so well to tell a great story though. :) beautiful
