Alcohol and booze ( Binary Tree Structure)

by Steven Beesley   Aug 3, 2005

Alcohol and booze, drinks to take away the blues.
Where do I start, Alcohol and booze?
Drinks to take away the blues, I feel so dry.

Alcohol and booze, where do I start?
A cocktail first, Alcohol and booze.
Where do I start, so many drinks to choose?

Drinks to take away the blues, I feel dry.
I'm in a daze, Drinks to take away the blues.
I feel so dry, Need to quench my thirst.

A cocktail first, So many drinks to choose.
I'm in a daze, Need to quench my thirst.

Binary Tree Structure:
Similar form style to a Pantoum. The form takes 1 line, and "dissects" it into 2 new lines, each containing a element of the first line. It will be followed by a second and third stanza, taking the previous 2 lines as the first line of these new stanzas, the structure of the form below:

A l B
C l A
B l D

A l C
E l A
C l F

B l D
G l B
D l H

For the closing of the poem, a Coda is used taking all the new phrases from the previous set and putting them together as a single stanza as follows:

E l F
G l H

Firstly, I'm sorry it's taken so long to have a look at your work, the silly site hasn't been working properly for me for a while!

    Secondly, I love this!

While the topic is somewhat overdone (I'm guilty of this myself) you manage to keep the piece original and fresh, and this is a style I've never seen before, so it's something I want to try!

It looks someqhat difficult, but you manage to make it look almost easy here.

    Dear Jacklyn,

Thanks for the comments and advice on drinking. Fortunately I do not have a drinking problem. This was merely choosen a the topic subject for the poem.

    Regards,

nice to learn the new style, sounds like it's hard to write, at least to me it does! you did it wonderfully. but drinking solves no problems only creates more, i know from family experiance to which seems to repeat it's self every summer.
