My Last Letter To You

by Mrs Reynolds- far from fixed   Aug 3, 2005

As I sit here in darkness
Waiting to write
Feeling so heartless
Throat feeling so tight

writing words in ink
words, all my goodbyes
Then I stop and I think
are these words lies?

Is this really the day that i die?
I lean back in my chair
And i begin to cry
I look but no one is there

I tell you I love you
I sign the letter from me
I place no one above you
But now i must leave

I bring my wrist to the blade
I forget about pain
I am no longer afraid
I start to feel my life drain

Its me against me, my own little war
My lips begin to turn blue
I drop to the floor
and think "Oh yes, this was, my last letter to you..."
