Loves Fortress

I am a prisoner of you
My heart is shackled to your soul,
A slave of your darkness
An insanity has consumed me thats incurable
Brought on by the curse of love
As i try to reach out to you, you recoil into the blackness of your soul
You're consumed in yourself
A consumption thats created a barrier of lies that can be pierced by no one
I am chained to the walls of your fortress trying to break them down but failing once again
I try hoping my love could save you from yourself
But the unrequited nature weakens me to nothing
Causing my love to have no power
So i stand confined to your emptiness,
Defenseless against the evils of being alone
Though i know in the end my attempts will be worthless
You'll always remain in your self mended cage
I still try
And with my failed trials i don't love you any less
I just fall for you deeper
Love was my savior
I just hope one day you'll find redemption
In love with me

    Wow. I really like this poem. My favorite lines are:
    "You're consumed in yourself
    A consumption thats created a barrier of lies that can be pierced by no one"
    These lines spoke to me because of an old relationship. Excelent poem. 5/5

    Ohh...I can relate...this piece is really meaningful and deep...
