A child will perish each minute.

by Steven Beesley   Oct 27, 2005

Parenthesis:
In October, 2005 leading medical experts said that one child will die each minute due to complications from HIV/AIDS. There is not enough done to help those poor children in 3rd world countries who have no say and have been stricken by this disease. They have no access to the life sustaining drugs to prolong their lives. It is really such a sad state of affairs.

A child will perish each minute:

A child will perish each minute,
one will die in such pain.
No help is given for their suffering,
no one seems to know or care.

Each passing day, it's all the same.
So many more will pass away,
unknown to you and me.
They have no hope, death is their only release.

A silent killer is working feverishly,
behind the scenes where no one can see.
It's victims have no say or choice,
no help can reach them; it's far too late.

Science is slow to help their fate,
need medical attention to help their state.
Yet nothing is done, so little and so late!
All must die without any chance from this silent enemy.

there are definately people that care, just not enough of them i think. this poem is great! it's so sad capturin the truth of the world that is going on. actually here we have this collectors thing going on. for holloween where you take this box around and collect money to help go to the finding a cure for HIV/ AIDS. me and my friends are helping out with it. but i would have to agree with your opinions in this poem that not enough people seem to care about this topic in our world. it's really sad. your poem is great though!
