Broken Promise.

Broken Promise:

I had no expectations.
I did not hold any hopes.
But you approached and made your promise.
Nothing that I had anticipated.

You gave me a dream,
something to look forward to.
But now all has gone!
In all but a flash, you shattered my world.

You have gone back on your word!
I have lost all my trust.
You just ignore me as though
nothing ever happened?

Such a disappointment to me,
a letdown and a liar.
Leaving me with frustration
and full of ruefulness.

Yet you go on without any sign of remorse,
no sorrow or regret for the pain that you have caused.
Indeed no self-reproach for your terrible misdeed.

Burning away all last respect that I had for you,
replacing it with despair, sadness and contempt!
For such callousness and a heart devoid of any feelings.
Such insensitivity and hardness in your mind.

You have slain all respect that I had for you.
My estimation of you now remeasured and weighed.
Your stature now so much lower.
Your conscience shows lack of all dignity and responsibility.

You have no sense about your cruelty,
no shame for your lack of moral conformity.
Your soul shows no scruples and
has no sense of what is right and wrong.

But I remain a wee small voice,
overcome by your superego.
As you feel not obligated to provide me with any form of explanation,
even should rightness dictate such.

It is clear to me that fiber you lack!
