These Words

by Kaylee   Mar 24, 2006

I am an illusionist spinning
Another web of deception.
This smile forced on my lips
Leaves behind a bloody kiss.
I know that I could return to
My normal self if I knew who I was.

These words are all that
I have when my charm fails.
Another syllable burned on my
Tongue when I lose my faith.
Broken thoughts that trail
From my fingertips when I write.

A magician never tells her
Secrets when she performs.
I keep my secrets tucked down
Inside until I feel myself drown.
All that I am is a facade sitting
There in front of you made of stone.

Stone that breaks when you
Come too close. I shatter.
Nobody comes to rescue me
When I dissolve into dust.
Just another tear that trickles
Down an innocent face.

Of course . . .It doesn't need editing, unless you have a good idea :) Your poetry seems to have such meaning, and power, perhaps it's just me but it drives into my mind, and makes me just want to keep writing, so that I can write like you one day :)

    Peace. [Sole]
