How can I smile when you're down?
How can I make this mistake?
How can I lift this frown?

How can I be sad when you feel great?
How can I see when you're blind?
How can I love when you hate?
How can I leave you behind?

How can I laugh when you fall?
How can I talk to them instead?
How can I grin when you're appalled?
How can I live, when you are dead?

    Wow, deep poem, hidden meanings and all that - a really cool poem and an amazing read, I liked the line which started 'How can I....'

    A little repetitive...but I like it. It conveys a true relationship...and though it may mean something completely different, to me it's like one person in a relationship cannot be happy if the other isn't...if that makes any sense :)
    Great poem! I especially liked your ending, very strong and it wrapped everything up nicely.
