X Secret Saviour

by Sole   Mar 29, 2006

I'm punching through your oceans, but the tide will never turn
I'm kicking flames of complication, but your heart will never burn
I'm struggling against the vine of independence
But you continue, the picture of transcendence
Eyes alight with joy and faith
Unaware of the spying wraith

I'm attacking your shores, but your guns are aimed
I'm retreating fast, but my ships are maimed
I'm losing the battle of inner ability
Falling beneath your sincere hostility
Smile wide, and shouting for fun
Unaware of the traitors gun

I'm saving you from betrayal, but you will never recognise
My face, because the loyal ones, made you see the truth within their lies
They took you away from me and turned your back
The first day without you my world turned black
And I could only watch in resign
Holding your image dear, in my scarred mind

The first two lines ran too long that it just seemed out of place. Try breaking them up because they really are great lines. I really liked the imagery of this poem more than your other poems. It felt more deep and emotional for some reason.
