Don't Cry Little Girl

by Shawna   Jul 1, 2006

Don't cry little girl
Daddy does love you
And it hurts him the most
When he turns you black and blue

Don't cry little girl
I'm sorry for the pain
But daddy had to teach you
Not to play with his gold chain

Don't cry little girl
Everything will be all right
It's because your daddy loves you
He sneaks in your room at night

Don't cry little girl
You must act brave and proud
You see you made me do it
You were playing way too loud

Don't cry little girl
She whispered to herself
As she reached for the gun
And got the bullets off the shelf

Don't cry little girl
The gun trembling in her hand
Her finger on the trigger
As she helped him understand

This little girl won't cry
Not anymore after today
You see I have to make it stop
And now I've figured out a way

Don't cry little girl
Is what you've always said
So it should make you happy,
Now I won't, because you're dead!

Awesome poetry. That really made me feel for the young girl in the poem, its sad that kids have to go through abuse, and you portrayed that depth and depression excellently.

    Peace. [Sole]
