A Shattered Heart

by Bridgette   Aug 9, 2006

The memories of you are overwhelming
Shattering every piece of my broken heart
I hopelessly keep trying to block you out
But your face is forever burned inside my mind

I've lost my life, and it was all for you
Earning nothing but distrust and harsh words
I feel your memory dissolve into loneliness
And you do nothing to try to help me

My whole world is crashing down on me
Smothering me with it's lies and deceit
Until I've been wasted away into nothing
And I am forced to admit my defeat

A shattered heart, broken and abused
But if you listen closely, you'll know
That it still beats for you...

An absolutely perfect stanza. Great work. The flow wonderful.

I liked this one a little better... It was more catching to the eye and flowed a little better.

It didn't rhyme, but it had a really nice flow to it... And the poem itself was pretty good. Nicely done.
