There's Nothing Left

by Bridgette   Nov 19, 2006

Our love has become nothing more than a distant memory
Besides all the broken promises, we never had anything
I gaze into the moon as the loneliness sinks in deep
Replacing my joyful smiles with pain filled tears

I forced myself to move on and look past our forgotten love
Only causing pain and distrust for me and those around
I tried so hard to look strong in front of your eyes
Hiding behind my fake smiles with my pain buried beneath

I'm letting go of you, all of the broken promises and lies
Knowledge of our dying love will keep me from holding on
As I look back, I can see the distant lights fade
And darken any hope of ever returning here again

A very sad and touching poem here Bridgette. You really are a very talented writer, and your sad poems are very captivating. So real, so deep and true. I know a lot of people can relate to this one, as many of your others. Awesome job!
