In Her Stare

by *Charisma*   Sep 30, 2006

I see her watch other people
And observe their different lives
And I wonder if she's happy
With that faraway look in her eyes

I'm hoping she's at least content
Happy enough to just stay
But a part of me is dying inside
To think she dreams another way

I love her with all of my heart
And I know she does in return
But does that stop someone from leaving?
Will it drench that fire's burn?

I want to reach for her face
And turn it to look at mine
I want to get a deeper look
And see what's running through her mind

Do her dreams take her away
Will they become a reality
Only time will tell this outcome
And I feel it's taunting me

My stomach turns and twists
My forehead bears many lines
Of a pain that might yet come
And is showing promising signs

But still she's undecided
I see as her stare switches to me
I'm not sure how to feel
Since she leaves me uncertainty

The ryhming seemed almost effortless, it all fit together so perfectly.

Your words are so emotional. So gripping. So sad. It's heartbreaking to read about someone watching the people they love leaving, whether emotional or physical. I feel for this poem, really great.
