Not Worth It

by Bridgette   Oct 22, 2006

It's always bitter and cold outside
Without the warmth of someone caring
And maybe that's why I turned to him
Or possibly to keep my heart from tearing

Because I'm so much more free
Without you by my side
And even under your scornful eyes
I no longer want to run and hide

But forbidden fruit doesn't taste as sweet
When there's no one there to care
And it's possible my love has faded away
Into the nights that you were never there

And I hope my truth filled laughter
Rings mockingly in your ears
For even as the smiles fade
There no longer comes painful tears

Your plan to ruin me has failed
But I won't carry out mine
Because even though I know I could
You're just not worth it this time

You go! Woot woot! >.< Well done on the emotion in this. I actually believed that you were going to give him up. As in some other poems, they give me the impression that they want him back.

The only thing that bothered me about this one was that the flow was off. I didn't feel 100% comfotable with it, but could still read through it. Catch my drift? But other than that, it was perfect. =) 5/5 xoxo

This was a great poem. I love how it describes someone who is strong and rised above someones plan to destroy them. Fab. 5/5

Wow, very good! You described everything so well, you had a great flow, it was just perfect all over. My favorite stanza was the last one because you're saying you're basically better than him and you won't stoop as low as him. Great job! 5/5 Keep it up!
