Friends Isn't Enough

by *Charisma*   Dec 10, 2006

The danger in crossing the line of friendship
Is that once you're over, it's soon erased
Either you stay, and make things work
Or leave to find another place

Phone calls change from your basics
To the inner workings of the heart
And dinner dates aren't casual
Like they were at friendship's start

The future now includes two people
You don't see yourself as one
The conversations grow deeper
Surpassing childish fun

Your soul is passed for the other to take
And handle with such gentle care
A bond is formed, and is hard to break
Because each other you share

When you understand them, share their dreams
And feel the love in their caring touch
It's at this point in your relationship
That friends will never again be enough.

I loved that stanza because it has two sides to it. It can either be a bad thing that your losing the childishness of the fun you used to have as friends or it's a good thing that you've found something deeper and can progress on that.
And now i sound a lot older than i am and i've scared myself lol.
But seriously. Great poem this one. I can't think of any suggestions =)

Oh i liked it. I get it. I especially liked the beginning:
'The danger in crossing the line of friendship
Is that once you're over, it's soon erased'
this happened and that friendship never went back to the way it once was. It was lost. Brilliant poem.
