They say he is a joke
that he'll never be one of our "folk"
That he is wrong and a dozer
but he isn't as bad once you get closer

They say he is fake
that he'll never be able to make (it)
That he isn't good for me
but I don't think so, they don't know him like thee

They say I must be out of my mind
but I know that my heart is his to find
That he must be the enemy
but I think that's where I want to be

They say awful things about him
I love my friends, but I ignore them
That he is like a liar, you can't trust him
but I think he deserves a chance, then

They say a lot of things I don't like
but I brush myself off, ready to fight
That he shouldn't be spoken to
