For A Girl

This poor girl
Has gone through so much
She deserves better
A warmer touch

Why is life so unfair?
How can love be so cruel?
I hope somebody takes care of her
Someone smart and not some fool

Even though she may be
Alone and cold
People love her dearly
As she is often told

I hope she realizes
She is strong on her own
Though people are mean
She won’t always be alone

If there is nothing
To hold onto
I know of one person
That you can trust, you
